How to Make Product Video Ads in ChatGPT
ChatGPT can now make a product video ad for you. Connect TalkPix in developer mode, attach a photo of your product and ask for an ad. ChatGPT writes the script, chooses a presenter, tells you the price in TalkPix credits and starts only when you say yes. The video plays inside the chat and stays in your TalkPix library.
Below: the setup, prompts that work, and how pricing, approval and your budget keep the spending under your control.
What the TalkPix connector does in ChatGPT
TalkPix makes talking-presenter video ads from a product photo: a presenter on screen shows your product and speaks a short script about it. On the site, that is the product video ad generator. The connector lets ChatGPT drive the same tools, so the brief, the script, the price and the finished video all live in one conversation:
- You attach a product photo and say who the ad is for.
- ChatGPT writes the script: a hook, the product name, one real benefit and a call to action.
- ChatGPT picks a presenter from Aria, Stella, Marcus and Hugo, unless you name one.
- ChatGPT quotes the price as a credit range and shows your balance.
- You say yes, the video renders, and it plays right in the chat.
TalkPix is not listed in ChatGPT's app directory. You add it yourself as a connector with one URL.
How to set it up, step by step
1. Have TalkPix credits
Every video uses the credits in your TalkPix account, at the same prices as on the site. Credits are pay as you go and never expire. The packs are on the pricing page.
2. Turn on developer mode in ChatGPT
Custom connectors live behind ChatGPT's developer mode. Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced and switch on Developer mode. Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan.
3. Add the TalkPix connector
Back in Apps & Connectors, create a new connector, name it TalkPix and paste this URL:
https://www.talkpix.ai/api/mcp
4. Sign in to TalkPix
ChatGPT sends you to TalkPix to sign in and approve the connection. Once you are back in ChatGPT, TalkPix shows up as a connector you can use in a chat.
5. Set a budget
On TalkPix, under Connected assistants, choose how many credits an assistant may start per video and per day. Without a budget, you confirm each video on TalkPix.
6. Refresh after updates
When TalkPix adds or changes a tool, open the connector in ChatGPT's settings and press Refresh so ChatGPT picks up the new version. The full walkthrough is on the TalkPix in ChatGPT setup page.
What you can ask for
Brief ChatGPT like a copywriter who can also film. Give it the product, the audience and where the ad will run, and attach the photo. Prompts that work:
- "Make a TikTok ad for this backpack with Aria. It's lightweight, waterproof and has a laptop sleeve. For university students."
- "Three Instagram Reels ads for this serum, each with a different hook. Use Stella."
- "A 15-second ad for this desk lamp for people who work from home, presented by Hugo."
- "Make a Turkish product ad for this phone case with Marcus."
- "An 8-second vertical video of a coffee cup on a rainy window sill, slow camera push-in."
- "What's my credit balance, and which videos did I make this week?"
To give a sense of the scripts the connector produces, here is one written on 2 November 2026 for a backpack, from a photo and a one-line brief:
"Campus bag hunt over. The Everyday Backpack is feather-light, waterproof, and has a padded laptop sleeve, so rainy walks to class won't wreck your tech. Grab yours before the semester rush!"
Hook, product name, a benefit you can picture, call to action. If you want it punchier or aimed at a different buyer, ask for a rewrite before you approve. Rewrites cost nothing; only a started render uses credits.
AI videos, too
Besides presenter ads, the connector reaches two AI video models, Seedance 2.5 and P-Video 2 Pro, for scene shots without a presenter. ChatGPT quotes those the same way.
Ads in Turkish
Ask for a Turkish ad and the script is written in Turkish, spoken by the presenter. Nothing else changes.
How the price, approval and budget work
An assistant that can start paid work needs clear limits. These are the ones TalkPix enforces, whatever ChatGPT is asked to do.
A range with a hard ceiling
Before anything renders, ChatGPT gives you the cost as a range, for example "15–18 credits, never more than 18", plus your balance. TalkPix bills per rendered second, so the final length decides the exact amount. The top of the range is a hard ceiling: the video cannot cost more than that.
Your yes starts the render
ChatGPT waits for you to agree in the chat. Change the script, presenter or length, and it quotes again.
The budget on TalkPix caps everything
The per-video and per-day budget you set on TalkPix applies to every request from ChatGPT. Anything above it is not started from the chat; it needs your confirmation on TalkPix. You can change the budget or disconnect ChatGPT whenever you like.
Your card stays on TalkPix
Credits are bought on TalkPix. ChatGPT only sees your balance and your videos, never your card details. Pack sizes are on the pricing page.
Where your videos end up
The finished video plays inside the ChatGPT conversation and is saved in your TalkPix library for downloading, sharing or remaking later. For store-specific formats, see the Shopify video ad generator and the TikTok Shop video generator.
Frequently asked questions
Is TalkPix in the ChatGPT app directory?
No. TalkPix is added as a custom connector in developer mode. You paste the TalkPix connector URL into a new connector and sign in to your TalkPix account to link it.
Which ChatGPT plans can connect TalkPix?
Developer mode, which custom connectors need, requires a paid ChatGPT plan. You turn it on under Settings, then Apps and Connectors, then Advanced, and then add the connector.
Can ChatGPT spend my credits without asking?
No. ChatGPT tells you the price first and starts only after you agree. It can never go past the per-video and per-day budget you set on TalkPix, and anything above it needs your confirmation on TalkPix.
How much does a video ad made in ChatGPT cost?
The same credits as the same video made on the TalkPix site. ChatGPT quotes a range before each render, and the top of that range is the most that video can cost.
Do I get a video without paying?
No. Every video is paid with TalkPix credits before it renders. Credits are pay as you go, with no subscription required, and purchased credits never expire.
Why does ChatGPT not see a new TalkPix feature?
ChatGPT keeps a copy of the connector's tool list. After TalkPix updates a tool, open the connector in ChatGPT's settings and press Refresh to load the new version.
Ready to connect? The ChatGPT setup page has the connector URL with a copy button. Prefer Claude? See TalkPix in Claude.
