What happens in the video

Soot bursts from the fireplace and your dog or cat tumbles out in a small Santa coat and crooked hat. It trots up to a floor-level camera, eats every cookie on the plate, pulls one old chewed slipper from its sack and nudges it toward the lens as the gift. Then it sits and stares into the camera, chewing.
